The family of Democratic National Committee staffer Seth Rich have launched a crowdfunding page to raise money to investigate his unsolved murder.
…which caught the attention of Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke.
While acknowledging that he did not know all the facts of the July 2016 crime that took place in Washington, D.C., at the height of Hillary Clinton’s failed presidential bid, Clarke posed an interesting question, asking if Rich may have been killed “because he knew too much?”
CNN takes major beating for so-called ‘bombshell’ on heels of new Trump surveillance report
I admit I do not know all the facts here but as a former homicide detective, was he killed because he knew too much? https://t.co/Khymi6HoU5

Aaron Rich, the brother of the victim, said on the GoFundMe page the effort will help “keep the investigation active, to seek leads and to follow-up on investigations,” in the quest to “make sure we are doing what we can to aid Washington’s police department.”
Rich stressed that because of “the caustic political environment we find ourselves in today, many people have used my brother’s murder for their own agendas.”
There was a strong reaction to Clarke’s tweet… and it was no surprise that Hillary Clinton’s name came up often. And while speculative, as one user noted, the family deserves to know the truth.
Here’s a sampling of responses from Twitter:
@SheriffClarke @dcexaminer They should hook Podesta & Hillary up to a lie detector & investigate. His family deserves the truth.

@SheriffClarke No doubt reason DNC did not want @FBI in server was fear of criminal activity discovery. I’m sure it’s been bleach bit now

@SheriffClarke Yes Sheriff Clarke, the evidence so far certainly tends to look very suspicious. Very sad.
