Update: Tomi Lahren was suspended from the Blaze.
Conservative commentator Tomi Lahren may soon be out at the Blaze amid uproar over her pro-abortion comments.
Lahren quickly became a rising star after the Blaze gave her own show in November 2015. She has since made numerous guest appearances on Fox News and even appeared on “The View” on March 17, where she stunned the audience by revealing she’s pro-choice.
Lahren also rankled conservatives by suggesting that pro-life conservatives are hypocrites (see video starting at 7:38):
“I can’t sit here and be a hypocrite and say I’m for limited government, but I think the government should decide what women do with their bodies,” she said.
Lahren was immediately slammed by many conservative Republicans, 68% of whom vehemently oppose abortion.
Tomi’s pro-choice stance was especially surprising since she had condemned abortion as murder just three months ago:
Only 3 months ago, @TomiLahren considered an abortion to be murder, today, she branded pro life conservatives as hypocrites. #NoPrinciples pic.twitter.com/8BqoQTOyD1

Many conservatives accused Tomi Lahren of being an unprincipled flip-flopper who was pandering to “The View’s” liberal co-hosts because she wants the left-leaning talk show to hire her.
Others slammed Lahren for not knowing what being a conservative or a constitutionalist really means:
Sources say Lahren’s contract with the Blaze may not be renewed. Lahren’s contract expires in September, but insiders say the Blaze may terminate it sooner.
“The chances of her being brought back [in September] were pretty near zero before yesterday,” a source told the Daily Caller. “[Whether Tomi remains at the company until September is] up in the air.”
The insider added that “[Tomi is likely] talking to other people who might be willing to buy out her last six months.”
On Monday, the Blaze founder Glenn Beckdiscussed Lahren’s abortion flip-flop on his radio show and slammed her remark that pro-life conservatives are hypocrites.
I would disagree that you’re a hypocrite if you want limited government and yet you want the government to protect life of the unborn. It’s very, very clear.
But it takes intellectual honesty, and it takes a willingness to actually think these things through and to do more than just read Twitter or Facebook to get your news and your political opinions. You actually have to study things — these things out in your mind. Especially at a time period like today.”
When asked if Lahren was on her way out, Leon Wolf, managing editor of the Blaze, quipped: “No comment.”
A defiant Lahren responded to the backlash on Twitter: “I speak my truth. If you don’t like it, tough. I will always be honest and stand in my truth.”
I speak my truth. If you don't like it, tough. I will always be honest and stand in my truth.

Listen, I am not glorifying abortion. I don't personally advocate for it. I just don't think it's the government's place to dictate. https://t.co/qRjbAtJdo7

Glenn Beck mocked Lahren’s grammatically incorrect statement, “I’m a constitutional” on Twitter:
God help her. Not as smart as she thinks. Life and learn # tomi

Lahren’s colleagues at the Blaze also jabbed at her on Twitter:
Even Hillary Clinton didn't call pro-life conservatives hypocrites.

Despite the backlash, there’s no doubt Tomi Lahren has a big future in TV.
Many of her fans already think she’s too big for the Blaze and should be eyeing greener pastures, like Fox News. Time will tell.
It's inevitable, @TomiLahren to Fox News, it's like when the As get a good young player, you just know they'll end up with the Yankees.
