TMZ asks Ice-T if ‘mock assassination’ video of Obama would have been cool, you won’t believe the answer

Rap star Ice-T thinks a music video depicting President Trump as a clown with a gun pointed at him is perfectly acceptable but would not have been okay with former President Obama.

“Obama wasn’t the same kind of guy as Trump,” the rapper and actor told TMZ as he reacted to  Snoop Dogg’s new video, “Lavender,” which contains a scene of a clown-character Trump having a gun pointed at him. Ice-T said the same video made about Obama would have been “terrible.”

Beyond unhinged! Filmmaker screams uncontrollably at Fox News host over ‘new’ Michael Brown ‘evidence’

“It was very hard to make an Obama joke because of his race and because Obama was such a smooth character,” he said. “I think Trump brings a lot of these jokes on to himself. He’s just such a character and he acts like a clown.”

The 59-year-old rap icon believes Trump is the subject of jokes and Saturday Night Live skits because “he gives these people so much material.”

The rapper admitted Snoop Dogg “pushed the line” even though “everybody knows” pointing a gun at the president is illegal. He agreed with rap star Treach that the video is “artistic” and that Snoop’s message is that “right now everybody’s a clown.”

He pointed out that the video is fine because “at the end he cleaned it up because Trump is smoking weed with him.”

But he was not sure what to think when he first saw the video.

“I was nervous,” he said. “I watched the video for the first time, I was like, I don’t know. You can’t point a gun at the president.”

He agreed with Treach that since the gun in the video only “said bang” and there was no blood, it was acceptable and artistic.

Apparently no level of artistic expression would have been acceptable if it the gun was pointed at a clown Obama.

Many on Twitter seemed to agree.
