In a report that either opens up a whole new scandal or seriously undermines the Democratic Party’s claims of collusion between President Donald Trump and Russia, the spokesman for Russian President Vladimir Putin said Sunday their ambassador likely met with people advising Hillary Clinton.
Now-former National Security Adviser Mike Flynn faced intense scrutiny for meeting with the Russian ambassador, but Putin’s press secretary Dmitry Peskov appeared on CNN Sunday and told host Fareed Zakaria that people advising Team Hillary also had meetings with the diplomat.
“Well, if you look at some people connected with Hillary Clinton during her campaign, you would probably see that he had lots of meetings of that kind,” Peskov said. “There are lots of specialists in politology, people working in think tanks advising Hillary or advising people working for Hillary.”

How soon can we expect Democrats to call for an investigation of possible collusion between the Clinton campaign and Russia?
Peskov explained that talking to people is what ambassadors from all countries do as part of their job.
“This is his job. He was talking about bilateral relations. He was talking about what is going on the in the United States, so we have a better understanding In Moscow,” said Peskov.
