KARMA: Cory Booker whines about health bill ‘being forced down his throat’ … GOP LAUGHS

Democrats are having a mega temper tantrum, threatening to shut down the government, and vowing that Republicans won’t force bills down their throats.

On Monday Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and others sent a letter to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky and threatened to shut down the government if Republicans add the funds to pay for the border wall with Mexico to a trillion dollar infrastructure bill, CBS News reported.

“We believe it would be inappropriate to insist on the inclusion of (wall) funding in a must-pass appropriations bill that is needed for the Republican majority in control of the Congress to avert a government shutdown so early in President Trump’s administration,” it read.

“All 12 appropriations bills should be completed and they should not include poison pill riders such as those that roll back protections for our veterans, environment, consumers and workers and prohibit funds for critical health care services for women through Planned Parenthood. We strongly oppose the inclusion of such riders in any of the must-pass appropriations bills that fund the government,” it said.

Interesting, because in 2008 when Republicans threatened a government shutdown Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid warned them of all the people hurt by such a move.

“Shutting down the government means that senior citizens stop receiving checks and veterans stop receiving health care,” he said. “If Republicans want to have a debate about denying senior citizens Social Security checks and health care, that’s a debate we’re willing to have.”

Apparently, Democrats no longer have those concerns.

And Sen. Schumer wasn’t the only Democrat having a temper tantrum.

New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker told CNN’s “State of the Union” on Sunday that “Republicans cannot just force this (healthcare bill) down our throats.”

Democrats are making hypocrisy an art form.
