Sean Hannity believes it’s high time President Donald Trump “purge” himself of Obama administration bureaucrats.
“It’s time for the Trump administration to begin to purge these saboteurs before it’s too late,” Hannity said in his opening monologue on Fox News Channel’s “Hannity” Thursday.
Hannity called on Trump to fire all the “deep state, Obama holdover government bureaucrats who are hellbent on destroying” him.
Noting that President Abraham Lincoln fired more than 1,200 executive branch employees whom he feared would be disloyal during his presidency, Hannity urged Trump to do the same.
“It’s time now for President Trump to follow Abraham Lincoln’s example and fire anyone and everyone who’s actively working against him in government,” Hannity said.
Even former President Bill Clinton acted by firing every single one of the 93 U.S. attorneys on day one of his first term, Hannity pointed out.
“It’s very important for President Trump to act right now,” he said, explaining how timing is crucial.
“He’s got to end the leaks that are plaguing this administration,” Hannity urged, before going into examples of the leaks that have plagued the administration since Trump was sworn in to office.
“My message tonight is simple: Every holdover from the Obama administration, they need to go,” he said, adding that anyone who has broken the law must be prosecuted.
“All of those who aren’t actively working to fix the country need to be shown the door,” Hannity concluded. “It’s hurting a lot of people.”
