Russian govt trolls Sarah Jessica Parker on Twitter over Russian ambassador meme

From Russia, with love?

A social media post by Sarah Jessica Parker on Thursday earned the actress an unexpected response – from Russia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The “Sex and the City” star posted a meme on Instagram of her character, Carrie Bradshaw, sitting in front of her laptop.

I had to. Don’t know the provenance however whoever you are, thank you. X, sj

“I couldn’t help but wonder … had the Russian ambassador been meeting with everybody except me?” the meme reads, apparently poking fun at all the recent uproar over members of President Donald Trump’s administration meeting with Russian ambassador Sergey Kislyak.

“I had to. Don’t know the provenance however whoever you are, thank you. X, sj.” read the note below the meme.

The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ account apparently noticed and tweeted a reply.

“#Zakharova: If #SarahJessicaParker desperately wants to meet Russian Ambassador to US – anything is possible. Sergey Ivanovich will be happy,” the tweet read, referring to ministry spokeswoman, Maria Zakharova.

The tweet featured a photo of Zakharova, sitting at her desk with Parker’s meme post displayed on the computer monitor.

“Sarah, if you want it so much, we can help you meet Russian ambassador,” the caption on the photo read.

No telling if Parker will take the offer and if her fellow Hollywood liberals would have a meltdown.
