Lindsey Graham tells town hall folks he’s ‘very worried’ that Trump accused Obama of wiretapping

Sen. Lindsey Graham said one way or another the Trump Tower wiretapping scandal is the biggest scandal since Watergate.

At a town hall held in Clemson, S.C., the senator told the crowd that if what President Donald Trump said is true when he accused the former Obama administration of wiretapping his New York hotel, the scandal is big.

“If it is true, illegally, it would be the biggest political scandal since Watergate,” he told the raucous crowd.

But, hedging his bets, he added, if the Obama administration legally obtained the warrant because there was enough evidence to get one that it is also the biggest scandal since Watergate.

“I’m very worried,” the South Carolina senator said, adding, “It’s my job as a united States senator to get to the bottom of this. I promise you I will.”

President Trump said, in a tweetstorm Saturday, that former President Obama had Trump Tower wiretapped during the election.

A senior official in the former Obama administration denied the accusations to CNN.
