Immature fashion editor tries to walk back nasty way Tiffany Trump was treated at NYC event

Too little, too late?

A fashion editor who posted a picture of Tiffany Trump at a fashion show with empty seats beside her is now walking back her narrative.

Former Wall Street Journal fashion columnist Christina Binkley tweeted the photo of the empty seats near Trump on the front row at the Philipp Plein show at the New York Public Library on Monday.

Other fashion editors joined in, claiming the presence of the 23-year-old first daughter wreaked havoc at the event as everyone scrambled to distance themselves from her.

But the picture didn’t tell the whole story, apparently, as Binkley came clean to the Daily Mail, explaining that the seats were only empty for a few moments when others moved before being taken again.

Anti-Trump haters will be sorry to learn where their so-called boycott landed Ivanka’s fragrance sales

“I don’t know why they wanted to move, I didn’t ask them. But those seats were only empty for a short time, I’m thinking a couple minutes when two other people sat down, they were famous creative directors in the fashion industry,” Binkley said.

“But within a few more minutes they were bumped so that Philipp Plein’s girlfriend and sister could sit there, as the event planners had forgotten to save them seats,” she added.

Binkley, who was not alone in the shameful shunning of the young Trump, had tweeted another photo, claiming “Nobody wants to sit next to Tiffany Trump.”

“It wasn’t like the media portrayed,” Binkley told the Mail, in an obvious about-face.  “Tiffany seemed to be having a great time, she was surrounded by friends, she wasn’t being ‘shunned.'”

Binkley made a strange attempt to explain why she posted the photos, claiming the “news storm” that followed the initial story proved it was newsworthy.

“Sure – that’s a fair question. I’m a news reporter and it seemed news worthy to me that people moved away from Ms. Trump,” she said. “It’s an example of the heightened nerves with anything involving the Trump family. And given the news storm that followed, I’d say I was right! What hasn’t been reported until today, though, is the context.”

It seems context was an afterthought.

The images and “news” of a shunned Trump prompted “The View” co-host Whoopi Goldberg to reach out and promise to sit with her at upcoming fashion shows.

Chuck Todd cries foul over Trump’s media beat down, promptly pummeled with slew of wake-up calls

“Girl, I will sit next to you because I’ve been there where people say, ‘Ooh, we’re not going to sit next to you. I’ll find your a– and sit next to you,” Goldberg, an outspoken critic of President Donald Trump, said Wednesday.

Tiffany, the only child from Trump’s six-year marriage to actress Marla Maples, responded to Goldberg’s invitation in a tweet on Wednesday.

While Binkley revealed the real story behind the scenes at Monday’s fashion show, other fashion editors have not been so forthcoming.
