CNN is getting a small taste of what Fox News dealt with under President Barack Obama… and they’re not liking it very much.
Charging that “the fix is in,” CNN’s senior White House correspondent Jim Acosta accused President Donald Trump of “being cute” by only calling on “conservative” news outlets when taking questions.
CNN’s Wolf Blitzer raised the issue after CNN was not called on when Trump took questions after Tuesday’s news conference with Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu.
…the third consecutive news conference the president has followed this pattern, according to Acosta.
“Well, it would be nice if the conservative outlets the president is calling on would ask him tough questions instead of trying to curry favor with this president,” CNN anchor John King condescendingly chimed in.
Acknowledging that Trump called on conservative outlets, Acosta unloaded on the Trump White House.
“And so in the last three news conferences, Wolf, all of the questions to the American news media have been handled by conservative press,” he said.
“And I think, Wolf, there’s no other way to describe it but the fix is in,” Acosta added. “This White House, this president, does not want to answer questions.”
Not that one of the targets of their ire, Christian Broadcasting Network’s David Brody, took the abuse lying down.

In an article headlined, “This Just In From CNN: More Fake News,” the veteran White House reporter penned: “I was fully aware that the mainstream media would go into meltdown mode when I was called on first.”
“The fact that the president called on me and not on any of the traditional media outlets is really what is bothering all of them,” Brody said.
“They feel entitled to ask a question but the last time I checked, I only see the First Amendment in the U.S. Constitution,” he added. “I don’t see the, ‘Mainstream Media Entitlement Clause’ inside.”

Brody then addressed Acosta’s remarks directly.
“What Jim Acosta said on CNN Wednesday is insanely ridiculous (I used those words in a southern, ‘Bless your heart’ tone),” he said. “Acosta’s beef may be with The White House and not necessarily outlets like CBN but to lump us in and attach that phrase to us is reckless, downright wrong and insulting.”
Wow, Trump should call on Brody more often!
