United pilot used intercom to bash Trump & more before takeoff; unstable rant scares passengers off plane

A United Airlines pilot was taken off a flight after using the intercom as a megaphone to sound off about Donald Trump, Hillary Clinton and her pending divorce.

United flight 455 was scheduled for a 5:02 p.m. departure from Austin to San Francisco Saturday, but was delayed for two hours because of the pilot’s rant after she boarded the aircraft dressed in what passengers described as “street clothes.”

The airline released this statement to the passengers and press:

We hold our employees to the highest standards and replaced this pilot with a new one to operate the flight, which we expect will depart shortly. We apologize to our customers for the inconvenience.

“She showed up dressed like a civilian,” one passenger told San Francisco CBS affiliate KPIX Channel 5 News. “And asked us to take a vote to see whether she should change into her uniform.”

She also ranted about her presidential choices in 2016, stating that she refused to vote for either party candidate “because they’re a bunch of liars.” And then it went downhill from there.

At that point passengers took a vote — but not on the pilot’s chose of apparel — but rather if they felt safe flying with her. They did not.

“Being a pilot is a tough and stressful job, she was just not equipped today to do it,” Reiss said. “She seemed in an emotionally tough space, so I hope she finds the help she probably needs.”

Weiss said that at that point he stormed off the plane — and about 20 other passengers followed his lead.

This video was taken and posted to YouTube by a passenger on the flight.
