A federal judge in Seattle put a temporary stop to President Donald Trump’s executive order that halted travelers from seven Muslim-majority nations from coming to the United States.
U.S. District Judge James Robart decided that the president’s order had a high probability of being unconstitutional and illegal and thus issued a temporary restraining order against it until more hearings are held, Fox News reported.
“The Constitution prevailed today,” Bob Ferguson, the Washington Attorney General who brought the lawsuit, said. “No one is above the law — not even the president.”
Starbucks can hire all the refugees it wants, its competition vowed to hire 10 thousand veterans.
“This ruling shuts down the executive order immediately — shuts it down — so people can travel like they did before,” he said.
“What the judge ruled today is that the president’s executive order does not apply — does not apply,” Ferguson said.
But the White House is not backing off.
President Trump tweeted about the judge’s decision on Saturday.
When a country is no longer able to say who can, and who cannot , come in & out, especially for reasons of safety &.security – big trouble!

Interesting that certain Middle-Eastern countries agree with the ban. They know if certain people are allowed in it’s death & destruction!

The opinion of this so-called judge, which essentially takes law-enforcement away from our country, is ridiculous and will be overturned!

And White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer issued a statement addressing the matter on Friday.
“The Department of Justice intends to file an emergency stay of this outrageous order and defend the executive order of the President, which we believe is lawful and appropriate,” the statement read.
“The president’s order is intended to protect the homeland and he has the constitutional authority and responsibility to protect the American people.”
Judge Robart was appointed by former President George W. Bush and is no stranger to making activist statements from the bench.
In August, Judge Robart declared from the bench “black lives matter” during a case involving policing practices in Seattle.
