If their stunt didn’t work the first time, what made them think it’d work if they gave it one more try?
Senate Democrats once again boycotted a committee hearing on a Trump cabinet nominee, and just like the last time, Senate Republican waived committee rules and approved the nominee.

On Thursday morning, when Committee Chairman Sen. John Barrasso gaveled the meeting to order, all 10 Democratic chairs stood empty. So the remaining 11 Republicans voted unanimously to suspend the rules requiring the attendance of at least two minority party members to be present in order to conduct business.
“Scott Pruitt will be voted out of committee today,” the Wyoming Republican said. “He will get to the floor of the United States Senate and he will be confirmed as the next administrator of the EPA.”
“All Democrats are invited to the committee,” Barrasso added. “I met earlier this morning with Sen. (Tom) Carper, the ranking member. He indicated that Democrats would not be attending. We’re going to have a meeting today and we’re going to make sure that Scott Pruitt is advanced to the floor of the Senate.”

And with that, the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee approved Oklahoma Attorney General Scott Pruitt as President Donald Trump’s choice to head the Environmental Protection Agency.
Pruitt was nominated by the president with the anticipation that he will make the agency more industry-friendly.
The Democrats received little if any sympathy on social media.

@Conservative_VW IF the Dems keep doing this, they’re going to find themselves out of a job next go-round. If I didn’t show, I’d get fired.

On Wednesday, Democrats got burned when Treasury secretary nominee Steven Mnuchin and Health and Human Services secretary nominee Rep. Tom Price, R-Ga., were approval by the Senate Finance Committee. The Democratic members were a no-show.
There’s an old saying: Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. The Democrats should have known better than to try this one twice.
