Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke thinks fired acting Attorney General Sally Yates got off too easy.
The outspoken sheriff thought President Donald Trump did not goo far enough in punishing Yates after she defied his orders.
Fired Acting AG Yates telling gov lawyers not to enforce President Trump’s exec orders is an act of sedition and should be punished as such. pic.twitter.com/7hYhqajZCX

The Obama appointee, who was the interim Attorney General pending the confirmation of Sen. Jeff Sessions, instructed the Justice Department not to defend the executive order on immigration and refugees against court challenges and was promptly fired by Trump on Monday.
For Clarke, the rebellious decision by Yates deserved more than just a pink slip.
@SheriffClarke @LindaSuhler that is exactly right it is an act of sedition a branch of government going rogue implementing its own law

The U.S. Sedition Act, which amended the Espionage Act of 1917 and was signed into law by President Woodrow Wilson in 1918, prohibited negative speech against the country that could impact its war efforts. Punishment included imprisonment for five to 20 years for those convicted. The legislation was repealed in 1920.
Twitter users had mixed reactions to Clarke’s bold call of sedition and weighed in with multiple views.

@SheriffClarke I don’t think you understand what the US AG’s job is. It’s defending the Constitution, not the Administration.
