Barack Obama waited all of ten days to start officially criticizing his successor again.
In the tradition of irrational denial, he came out against his own policy! Obama, not Trump, created the policy to ban certain Muslims from the United States.
Through his post-presidency spokesman Kevin Lewis, the former president spoke out in support of protests opposing President Trump’s temporary refugee ban on Monday afternoon, saying that “citizens exercising their Constitutional right to assemble, organize and have their voices heard by their elected officials is exactly what we expect to see when American values are at stake.”

Because to liberals, “American values” essentially means destroying America by throwing open its borders to the entire Third World.
The statement also seems to address Trump’s claims that the Obama Administration enacted a similar policy.
“My policy is similar to what President Obama did in 2011 when he banned visas for refugees from Iraq for six months,” Trump said. “The seven countries named in the Executive Order are the same countries previously identified by the Obama administration as sources of terror.”
In response, Obama’s statement reads, “With regard to comparisons to President Obama’s foreign policy decisions, as we’ve heard before, the President fundamentally disagrees with the notion of discriminating against individuals because of their faith or religion.”

The presidential tradition has always been not to criticize one’s successors, but apparently, this time is different. According to Politico, “The statement from Obama’s office (notably not in his voice directly) is extraordinary compared to the usual deference between presidents, but reflects both the existential threat that Obama truly believes Trump poses to the country and a Democratic Party brimming with anti-Trump energy but lacking any clear leaders.”
