If the media didn’t know that the Trump White House was going to fight them on their attacks after Sean Spicer’s speech Saturday, they do now.
Top advisor to President Trump, Kellyanne Conway, appeared on “Meet The Press” on Sunday and was immediately attacked and laughed at by host Chuck Todd.
Todd said Spicer lied on Saturday when he said the Trump inauguration was the most watched worldwide and called it a “provable falsehood.” Conway suggested it actually isn’t provable and, earlier in the day, Trump tweeted that TV ratings show it was more watched than President Obama’s inauguration four years earlier.
Wow, television ratings just out: 31 million people watched the Inauguration, 11 million more than the very good ratings from 4 years ago!

“You did not answer the question of why the president asked the White House press secretary to come out in front of the podium for the first time and utter a falsehood. It undermines the credibility of the entire White House press office on day one,” he declared.
“Don’t be so overly dramatic about it, Chuck. You’re saying it’s a falsehood,” Conway said. “Sean Spicer, our press secretary, gave alternative facts to that.”
That set Todd off.
“Wait a minute,” Todd said while laughing. “Alternative facts! Four of the five facts that he uttered were just not true. Alternative facts are not facts, they’re falsehoods.”
Conway attempted to bring the interview back to more important issues but Todd stayed on Spicer’s press conference.
“I don’t think you can prove those numbers one way or the other,” Conway said before she was interrupted by Todd laughing at her again.
“You can laugh at me all you want. You are, and I think it’s actually symbolic of the way we’re treated by the press. I’ll just ignore it. I’m bigger than that. I’m a kind and gracious person,” she said.
