In light of the hostile relationship that exists between President-elect Donald Trump and the media, things may get worse before they get better.
In what is being billed as an exclusive, Esquire is reporting that the incoming Trump administration is considering a plan to “evict” the press corps from the White House.

Citing an anonymous “senior official,” Esquire adds a little intrigue to the possibility.
“They are the opposition party,” the source reportedly said. “I want ’em out of the building. We are taking back the press room.”
Of course, what good would a press room be without the press?
Incoming White House press secretary Sean Spicer acknowledged that there’s been some “discussion” of the idea.
“There has been no decision, [but] there has been some discussion about how to do it,” Spicer said.
But the reasoning behind a potential eviction — see move — may not be as nefarious as implied.
There is concern about the briefing room being able to accommodate all the reporters looking to cover the Trump White House.
“There’s been so much interest in covering a President Donald Trump,” Spicer said.
“A question is: Is a room that has 49 seats adequate?” he continued. “When we had that press conference the other day, we had thousands of requests, and we capped it at 400 Is there an opportunity to potentially allow more members of the media to be part of this? That’s something we’re discussing.”

Alternative locations named are the White House Conference Center, near Lafayette Square, or the Old Executive Office Building, next door to the White House.
The White House Correspondents’ Association Board inadvertently justified the idea of a larger facility when the organization reiterated its support for the briefing room being open to all reporters who request access.
WHCA President Jeff Mason said in a statement released Sunday that he is meeting with Spicer to discuss media access to the White House, The Hill reported.
“The briefing room is open now to all reporters who request access. We support that and always will,” the statement said. “The WHCA will fight to keep the briefing room and West Wing access to senior administration officials open.”
