Senator Lindsey Graham sounded off on President-elect Donald Trump’s criticism of the intelligence community, calling his recent comments not “helpful.”
“I don’t think it is helpful for the Commander-in-Chief to question the competency, loyalty of those who are risking their lives to defend the nation, and the last thing I would say about anybody working in the American intelligence community is to compare them to Nazi Germany,” The South Carolina Republican told reporters Friday.

Trump blasted intelligence agencies in a tweet on Wednesday following the leak of a report later published by BuzzFeed that alleged compromising information about the president-elect.
Intelligence agencies should never have allowed this fake news to “leak” into the public. One last shot at me.Are we living in Nazi Germany?

Graham proceeded to take a thinly-veiled jab at his fellow Republican lawmakers.
“I can only imagine,” Graham continued, “what we would have said if a Democrat said that.”
The Republican senator apparently inspired many Democrats who cheered his remarks on Twitter where users issued a collective round of applause.
