Karma can be a real bitch — just ask Ohio Gov. John Kasich.
Despite having promised from the beginning to support the Republican presidential nominee — no matter who that person may be — Kasich turned his back on President-elect Donald Trump’s campaign — and even refused to vote for the billionaire businessman.
Trump ignored Kasich’s nose-thumbing and picked up Ohio’s 18 electoral votes on November 8, to help propel him to the winner’s circle.

On Friday, Trump delivered Kasich the second half of a double whammy when his personal favorite to chair the Buckeye State’s Republican Party narrowly defeated the incumbent candidate for that position — despite enjoying the governor’s endorsement.
After two deadlocked votes, Stark County attorney Jane Timken defeated incumbent chair Matt Borges.
Following her victory, Timken discussed with reporters her desire to take the state GOP in a new direction.

Timken’s victory is the latest display of the president-elect’s newfound clout within the state party. It also marks a defeat for Ohio Gov. John Kasich, who endorsed and lobbied for Borges to remain.
Despite interviewing candidates for his remaining cabinet picks in an effort to “make America great again,” Timken’s victory didn’t escape notice of the president-elect’s.
