Donald Trump has fired back at the “dishonest media” for claiming taxpayers will pay for the border wall with Mexico.
The headlines blared Thursday and Friday from all around mainstream media.
“Sources: Trump will ask Congress, not Mexico, to pay for border wall,” read CNN’s headline.
“President-elect Donald Trump will ask American taxpayers, not Mexico, to fund border wall: reports,” wrote the New York Daily News in its headline.
But that only tells part of the story, according to Trump in a tweet early Friday.
The dishonest media does not report that any money spent on building the Great Wall (for sake of speed), will be paid back by Mexico later!

Trump will use a bill enacted during the Bush administration to build the wall in order to get it started but plans to have Mexico reimburse the U.S. for the wall.
“It was not done in the Obama administration, so by funding the authorization that’s already happened a decade ago, we could start the process of meeting Mr. Trump’s campaign pledge to secure the border,” Rep. Luke Messer, R – Ind., told CNN.
“We want President Trump to have all the tools he needs to build the wall,” Louisiana Rep. Steve Scalise added. “We’re in talks with him on the details of it as they’re still putting together their team. We still got a few months before there’s another funding bill that’s going to move. We’re going to work with him to make sure we can get it done. We want to build a wall. He wants to build a wall.”
