She must have really wanted out of there.
Despite a New York magazine report suggesting Fox News rejected a $25 million request from Megyn Kelly, it is now being said she turned down far more than that to remain at the network.
On the heels of the bombshell announcement this week that Kelly is leaving Fox News to join NBC, an exclusive report from Mediaite claims she was offered “a whopping $100 million package to stay put.”

The offer was said to be a four-year deal at $25 million per year, coming directly from Fox Co-Executive Chairman Lachlan Murdoch.

More from Mediaite:
Our sources tells us that New York Magazine reporter Gabriel Sherman‘s “scoop” on Tuesday that Kelly went begging for $25 million late in their negotiations talks is entirely inaccurate. We are told, unequivocally, that Kelly never even countered Fox’s generous $100 million offer, because she had made up her mind to move on. In fact, the Fox offer is far higher financially than the one she ultimately accepted from NBC.
And Kelly looked to be all smiles according to photos snapped by the DailyMail outside of her NYC apartment building Wednesday night:

The reaction on social media was a mixed bag, though it’s clear that many on the right — see Donald Trump supporters — think the offer was far too generous.
Here’s a quick sampling of responses from Twitter:
@Mediaite Don’t care just glad she’s gone??

@marklevinshow If Megan signed with NBC for less so she could spend more time with her children, then she has my respect.

#MegynKelly turned down Fox’s $100m to join the Marxists @NBC. Is this what @MegynKelly meant by “Settle for More”? https://t.co/YDAu57d0SY
