Major shakeup at Fox! Just like that, Megyn Kelly’s been replaced–and the feedback’s coming in strong

Well that didn’t take long.

Just two days after Megyn Kelly said goodbye to viewers on “The Kelly File,” following her announced departure for NBC News, Fox News Channel has reportedly found a replacement.

Fox News executives are planning to announce that Tucker Carlson will step into Kelly’s 9 p.m. time slot, according to the Drudge Report.

“Tucker has already proven to be an audience powerhouse at 7 p.m., now sky is the limit!” an insider told Drudge. “Fox News will not be tamed.”

There had been much speculation about who the network would choose for the coveted prime time slot, with suggestions for other women including Trish Regan, Shannon Bream, Sandra Smith, and Martha MacCallum.

Former Fox anchor Greta Van Susteren, who left the cable channel in September, even chimed in tweeting her choice of Kimberly Guilfoyle, who currently hosts “The Five.”

Carlson has experienced a quick rise at Fox where his show “Tucker Carlson Tonight” premiered right after the November election. He helped the network make history by breaking viewership records in November.

Formerly a co-host on “Fox & Friends Weekend,” Carlson was also editor-in-chief of “The Daily Caller,” a publication he founded.

The timing of an announcement that Carlson will be replacing Kelly just as President-elect Donald Trump is poised to step into the White House is significant.

Many Fox News viewers have been wanting this since Tucker blew on the scene:

Today, it looks like their wish has been granted.

For the most part, Fox viewers are giddy over the news:

As for Tucker’s replacement? It looks like Martha MacCallum will be taking over for at least the first 100 days of Trump’s presidency.

Co-worker Eric Bolling chimed in with his congratulations:

As did Kellyanne Conway:

Of course, there are the naysayers who are fiercely tweeting their disapproval:
