John Harwood of CNBC has an explanation for everything that happened bad to the Democrat Party under President Obama’s watch, and the problem was a familiar culprit.
Under Obama’s leadership the party lost 1,042 government seats including in Congress and state legislatures, governorships and, of course, the presidency itself.
But it’s not his fault according to Harwood.
for those making silly argument that Obama hurt Democratic Party: last 5 presidents have left both houses of Congress in opposition hands

Fair point there.
drivers of D casualties under Obama: a) depth of financial crisis/Great Recession b) accumulated angst over 30-year income stagnation 1/2
— John Harwood (@JohnJHarwood) December 27, 2016
Ok.
drivers of D casualties under Obama: c) effective/unified R opposition, esp to ACA; d) Obama’s race amid white fear of cultural change 2/2

Ah yes. There it is. When in doubt blame whitey.
But let’s float another theory.
Might it have been that you were unable to see the anger at the Obama policies by the general public while you were busy asking Hillary Clinton’s campaign what questions they wanted you to ask Republicans when you moderated their debate Mr. Harwood?
Nah. It was probably racist white people. That’s a much easier explanation.
Somehow social media was not convinced.
@JohnJHarwood So white, liberal, progressive candidates lost their races because Obama is black. Gotcha.

@JohnJHarwood Has NOTHING to do with the exposure of the DNC’s rigging of the election or of media cheering Trump as R nominee. Nope.

@ideate_vision @celestialclocks @JohnJHarwood yawn. Everything is racist to you all. There can’t possibly be another explanation. #tolerant
— Clown Dawg (@poemclown) December 27, 2016
@JohnJHarwood So racist America twice elected a black president but did not vote for his white successor because of racism?
— GDTBTH (@MomFedora) December 27, 2016
Makes sense doesn’t it?
@JohnJHarwood Wouldn’t have anything to do w/ a series of foreign policy failures & domestic policies that held growth to under 3%, would it
— Too late for SMOD16? (@PaulWDrake) December 27, 2016
Nope. It was whitey.
I mean, the same white fear helped elect him but then white fear also helped defeat Democrats. What to do?! @JohnJHarwood
— Brad (@brad_dallas) December 27, 2016
It is a quandary but give him an A for effort on this stretch.
@JohnJHarwood Obama won twice UR race card expired in 2012 ASPCA should grab you for beating a dead horse
— William Maron (@Gitarfanman) December 27, 2016
@JohnJHarwood driver of d casualties under Obama. A) The press lost any semblance of neutrality and most people have figured that out.
