Hard work ethic pays off big for injured teen Chick-fil-A employee after customer makes photo, story go viral

An Indiana teenager has inspired countless people with his strong work-ethic and compassion for his community.

Beloved actor Alan Thicke died and this actress made it about Donald Trump – apology expected!

A photo of Chick-fil-A employee Jakeem Tyler at work was shared on Facebook last week by a customer and has since gone viral. The teenager was pictured working while wearing a neck brace and arm sling after recently being in a car crash.

Customer Cameron Nelson shared the photo after finding out the reason Tyler was at work despite his physical condition.

“I asked him what happened…he said he was involved in a car accident, but he was working cause he needs the money & also wants to feed the homeless for Christmas & needs the cash,” Nelson wrote on Facebook. “He’s definitely doin it for a great cause & I was amazed he’s still workin despite his condition.”

But Nelson did not stop with just the post and a promise to help Tyler by donating some money toward his goal of feeding the homeless. Nelson created a GoFundMe page for Tyler which has more than exceeded the $2,500 goal.

The trending campaign has raised over $11, 000 in a few days and earned Tyler kudos for his self-sacrificing mission.

Chick-fil-A’s Avon location issued this statement, according to WXIN TV:

“Jakeem is a phenomenal young man and an outstanding team member. He is an inspiration both in terms of his work ethic and commitment to serving others. Although he was in a car accident recently, he returned to work after being cleared by his doctor and with the support of his family so he could not only serve alongside his team in the restaurant but also earn money to give back to others. We are beyond proud of Jakeem and support his efforts to serve the homeless in our community. In regards to the money being donated on his behalf: Jakeem is grateful for the support of the community. How he decides to utilize the money is up to Jakeem and his parents.”

Tyler’s parents indicated that the teen had been planning for months on buying food for a local charity called Homeless Hoosiers, WXIN reported. Apparently, his dedication will prove to be a blessing to the charity.
