Fox News’ Tucker Carlson boldly confronted the public editor at the New York Times about its liberal and anti-Trump bias.
Surprisingly, Liz Spayd admitted the liberal slant of mainstream media while still defending reporters at her publication during an interview Friday on “Tucker Carlson Tonight.”
Just when I thought @TuckerCarlson show couldn’t get any better, he brings on an editor from @NYtimes and gives her a brutal dose of truth!?

Carlson noted that many readers thought the Times had “abandoned journalism” and become an “advocacy organization” for Hillary Clinton during the presidential campaign. While Spayd did not agree with the term, she did admit the Times’ own liberal readers were angry with the newspaper’s campaign and election coverage.

Carlson highlighted some “pretty aggressively anti-Trump” headlines from the publication’s current issue, telling Spayd it “seems like more of the same.”
“I do agree with you that, especially when it comes to political coverage, that the guns can get pointed too much in one direction,” Spayd responded.

Reading several tweets by Times journalists, Carlson pushed back on the editor’s claim that they are fair in doing their jobs.
“Are you kidding? These are news reporters saying this stuff?” he asked Spayd who admitted it was “outrageous” and their opinions ought to remain personal.
“If you sign up to be a journalist, then that’s what you ought to be,” she said.

Carlson believed this bias destroys the credibility and “undermines the business model” of the Times and other mainstream media outlets that have “debased” themselves so much that people look for alternative sources of news.
Spayd countered that Fox News does not “hold the middle ground” and shows partiality. However, she admitted that, based on what the New York Times “claims it is and wants to be,” its actions make no sense.
“Why would you cut off half of America and make them feel like this is not their New York Times?” she said.
