5 million voters have taken unprecedented step to overturn Trump victory on behalf of Hillary

A Change.org petition is a good reason why Americans should hope the left never achieves its goal of a pure democracy in America.

Garnering more than 4.7 million signatures, the petition says President-elect Donald Trump is “unfit to serve” and is calling on Electoral College voters to eschew the U.S. Constitution and to ignore the votes cast by millions of American in their respective states and support “the national popular vote winner.”

…which would be Hillary Clinton, of course.

“His scapegoating of so many Americans, and his impulsivity, bullying, lying, admitted history of sexual assault, and utter lack of experience make him a danger to the republic,” the petition reads. “There is no reason Trump should be president.”

Other than the fact that he was duly elected within the provisions of the U.S. Constitution… not that the organizers don’t realize how far-reaching their efforts are.

“This petition is unprecedented, but Donald Trump is an unprecedented danger to the Constitution,” the petition organizers state.

And while they frequently mention the Founding Fathers, the organizers play a game of semantics to boldly acknowledge that their effort equates to pure democracy — the very concept the founders went to great lengths to avoid.

“Casting your ballot for Hillary preserves majority rule – the ‘sense of the people’ – and prevents the most unqualified candidate in history from taking office,” an enclosed letter to Electoral College voters reads.

A greater danger to the constitutional republic bequeathed to the American people cannot be imagined.
