In apparent reaction to Donald Trump’s assessment that there should be some form of punishment for burning the American flag, members of the “NYC Revolution Club” gathered outside the Trump International Hotel in New York City to — what else? — burn the American flag.

At that time, the president-elect was inside at Jean-Georges restaurant, conducting a dinner meeting with former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney and incoming White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus.
While Romney was busy eating a bit of crow in anticipation of a possible plum appointment as Trump’s secretary of state, the group of little communists were outside burning flags and chanting shrill objections to a Trump administration.

Aside from themselves, no one seemed particularly impressed with their antics.
@SunsaraTaylor @PatrickArnold6 #TwoBitThugs getting their jollies by burning Flag. #EffingIdiots have Constitutional right 2 b #Assholes.

. @SunsaraTaylor @NYCRevClub What a bunch of dummies you are. Love your little uniforms. Try a real military one and see what happens! #MAGA

Then came the noise pollution — what they would refer to as chanting. Somehow the chanting loses all significance when there are only five people participating. Out of a city of more than eight million, they could only round-up five protesters? Sad.
Just burned US flag at Trump Hotel NYC. We REFUSE to Accept a Fascist America! Now your turn: #FlagBurningChallenge pic.twitter.com/pvMDaVIyKD

Our turn? Our turn for what? Trump is busy getting “stuff done” and the majority of voters in a number of states are anticipating a welcoming reversal of the policies enacted by the current administration.
Even people who were in sympathy with the group thought what they were doing accomplished nothing.
@SunsaraTaylor Please do not do this. This plays into his hands. Do not let Fascists position themselves as the true Americans.

One recognized in the group of communist protesters exactly that which they were protesting.

But this assessment said it all — and it was short and to the point to boot.
@SunsaraTaylor @jtLOL Pathetic losers.

Five shrill voices wanting to be heard out of a city of more than eight million — “pathetic losers” indeed.
