‘Secretary of Kicking Ass?’ Sheriff Clarke’s meeting with Donald Trump is most highly-anticipated

Outspoken Milwaukee County Sheriff David A. Clarke Jr. is reportedly set to meet with President-elect Donald Trump on Monday in New York City.

…prompting lots of speculation over a potential role Clarke may take in the new administration.

An unidentified source on Trump’s transition team was cited by news sources confirming the meeting, the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reported.

Clarke, a registered Democrat, stumped for Trump at the Republican National Convention and has been mentioned as a potential Department of Homeland Security candidate.

He called for an overhaul of the nation’s homeland security program in his soon-to-be-released memoir, according to the Journal-Sentinel

In an interview earlier this month, Clarke said that he would serve if called upon.

“I don’t expect anything, I don’t have an entitlement mentality,” he said. “I told Donald Trump I wanted to help him, because I thought that this country needed his leadership.”

“That being said, if the president asks you to serve, you step up to fulfill that duty,” Clarke added. “So if he feels that I can help him and he calls on me, sure I’ll accept it, but I’m not expecting anything.”

The reaction on social media shows Clarke would be a popular choice … here’s a sampling of responses from Twitter:
