As his numbers slip, French presidential contender uses ‘I’m no Clinton’ line to prove he’s not a loser

Trey Gowdy vs Ted Cruz for Supreme Court: take our POLL here.

If the words of a man leading in polls to become France’s next president are an example, it looks like Hillary Clinton is going to be immortalized in international politics forever … just not in the way she had imagined.

“I am not Hillary Clinton,” Alain Juppe, the man currently leading the pack, said on public radio. “And France is not America.”

His comments came ahead of a primary vote his conservative Les Republicains party is holding on Sunday in order to elect a nominee, Yahoo News reported.

Jupppe had a commanding lead but, as with Clinton, recent polls show his numbers have slipped, Reuters reported via Yahoo News.

His opponents include former French President Nicolas Sarkozy and former prime minister Francois Fillon, who are polling second and third respectively.
