We will fight back! Breitbart News plans lawsuit against ‘major media company’ over being called a racist website

Weary of being called a racist website, Breitbart News is planning to file a lawsuit against a “major media company.”

Since President-elect Trump appointed Stephen Bannon, former head of Breitbart, senior White House counselor and strategist the website has come under intense scrutiny by several media outlets who have characterized it as white nationalist.

“Breitbart News Network, a pro-America, conservative website, is preparing a multi-million dollar lawsuit against a major media company for its baseless and defamatory claim that Breitbart News is a ‘white nationalist website,’” it said in a statement to The Hill.

“Breitbart News cannot allow such vicious racial lies to go unchallenged, especially by cynical, politically-motivated competitors seeking to diminish its 42 million monthly readers and its number one in the world political Facebook page. Breitbart News rejects racism in all its varied and ugly forms. Always has, always will,” it read.

“The diversity of the company’s news coverage and its staff continue to embody Andrew Breitbart’s colorblind, distinctly American commitment to ‘E pluribus unum’—out of many, one.”

The move comes as a panicking left is finally starting to realize the power of conservative news websites and has begun launching counter-offensives.

Facebook and Google recently announced they would be restricting ads on “fake news” websites, purportedly to eliminate the revenue stream of websites that publish hoax or satire news.

But many people on social media have expressed concerns that their plan is actually to target conservative news websites, like ours and Breitbart, by falsely labeling them “fake news” and cutting off revenue.
