It appears being tough with the leader of the free world isn’t such the smart move.
Prior to his election as President of the United State, the Mexican city of San Miguel de Allende declared Donald Trump “persona non grata” but now that has changed.
“We have been listening to what he has said in recent days, and it seems that his rhetoric has been much less radical,” Mayor Ricardo Villareal García told reporters according to the Mexican newspaper, Proceso, Fox News reported. “We hope for the sake of the United States and Mexico that it is so.”
Villareal also extended an invitation to the President-elect to visit his town.
“Mexico is a very important country for the United States, and this relationship needs to be strengthened,” the mayor said.
Not exactly the same as what the town said in a decree on Sept. 16.
“The government and people of San Miguel de Allende declare that Mr. Donald Trump is persona non grata, and is not welcome in this territory,” it said.
