It looks as though Donna Brazile isn’t likely to remove the “interim” from her title as interim Democratic National Committee Chairwoman any time in the near future.
Brazile attempted to give a pep talk Thursday at the committee’s first staff meeting after their nominee’s stunning defeat to Republican Donald Trump, but it didn’t go all that well.
In the midst of her cheerleading, a staffer identified only as “Zach” by The Huffington Post stood and posed a question.
“Why should we trust you as chair to lead us through this?” he asked, according to the Post’s two sources. “You backed a flawed candidate, and your friend [former DNC chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz] plotted through this to support your own gain and yourself.”
Brazil was appointed interim chair when Wasserman Schultz resigned her DNC chair in disgrace when it turned out she was plotting behind the scenes to nominate Hillary Clinton over all other candidates. But additional emails disclosed by WikiLeaks revealed that Brazile was just as guilty.
Zach was undeterred by the boos and calls for him to sit down that followed and plowed on.

“You are part of the problem,” he continued. “You and your friends will die of old age and I’m going to die from climate change. You and your friends let this happen, which is going to cut 40 years off my life expectancy.”
Gee, he was going so well there until he brought up climate change.
The Post’s Jennifer Bendery — who wrote the piece — tweeted:
DNC held its first staff meeting today since Clinton’s loss. This happened. https://t.co/Su3DLDdOhH pic.twitter.com/oDzyeaq1dB

Zach was like the little boy who pointed out that the emperor had no clothes, and conservative author and political pundit Keith Jackson — among others — loved it.
@lucciinthesky @jbendery lol. Climate change? Love seeing Dems dancing like one-legged ballerinas

@lucciinthesky @jbendery Dan, you’re my Zack.
— FINER! (@tomfiner) November 11, 2016
@lucciinthesky @jbendery Sounds like he’d be a better head of the DNC at this point than Brazile.

@jbendery @mattdpearce Zach 2020

@jbendery Well done, Zach. pic.twitter.com/FGAbqeq8NK

There was only one flaw in Zach’s reasoning — the “climate change” part.
@lucciinthesky @jbendery Except no one is going to die from climate change.
— SupaDupaFly (@SpanishMcFly) November 11, 2016
@BendRaven @jbendery He’ll blame it on something else…
— I’m Chuck, Dude! :) (@ChuckNellis) November 10, 2016
@em_projects @jbendery @mattdpearce I think in context it makes sense to assume he meant they will have the opportunity to die of old age.
— David Steen, Ph.D. (@AlongsideWild) November 10, 2016
And the finger-pointing began, with some trying to blame the defeat on the electoral college and sexism.
@Path2Enlighten @jbendery Keep repeating this. It’s meaningless, but keep repeating it.
— JWF (@JammieWF) November 10, 2016
@Felicity_Alma no sexism that I saw.The DNC was biased. Lots of threads lead to trumps victory, but electing a qualified, flawed HRC was one
— Kevin ‘Purge’ Godec (@PurgeGamers) November 11, 2016
And the finger-pointing will likely continue until the death of the Democratic Party.
