ISIS calls on supporters to ‘slaughter’ American voters on Tuesday

The Islamic State has called on supporters to “slaughter” American voters on Election Day.

The terror group told Muslims not to vote and warned American voters that its attackers “have come to slaughter you and smash your ballot boxes,” as part of a seven-page manifesto titled “The Murtadd Vote” through its Al Hayat media center.

The threat came days after U.S. officials warned of an al Qaida plot to attack certain states on Monday.

Reports indicated that al Qaida is planning attacks on Virginia, New York, and Texas but specifics are not known.

“The counterterrorism and homeland security communities remain vigilant and well-postured to defend against attacks here in the United States,” an intelligence official told CBS News.

“The FBI, working with our federal, state and local counterparts, shares and assesses intelligence on a daily basis and will continue to work closely with law enforcement and intelligence community partners to identify and disrupt any potential threat to public safety.”
