They say politics makes strange bedfellows. But it also makes strange brunch mates.
Donald Trump‘s frenemy Megyn Kelly was spotted having brunch with Ivanka Trump on Friday.
Kelly and Trump chatted for two and a half hours at the Four Seasons in New York, Politico reported.
The meeting raised eyebrows, after Kelly recently jumped all over the stories of women who came forward at the eleventh hour with accusations of abuse against Donald Trump.
The morning rendezvous with Ivanka was especially surprising after Kelly’s fiery October 25 interview with Trump supporter Newt Gingrich on “The Kelly File.”
In the jaw-dropping interview, Gingrich accused Kelly of being “obsessed with sex” after she repeatedly referred to Trump as a “sexual predator” but refused to do the same with Bill Clinton.
Gingrich was also upset that Kelly takes it easy on Hillary Clinton, who is under a second criminal FBI investigation for mishandling classified State Department business.
While discussing poll numbers in battleground states, Kelly said she believed Trump was falling behind because of his alleged past misconduct toward women.
“I get it, I know where you’re coming from,” Gingrich told Kelly.
She quipped: “If Donald Trump is a sexual predator — ”
Gingrich then jumped in to correct the record: “He’s not a sexual predator. I’m sick and tired of people like you using language that’s inflammatory that’s not true. When you use the words, you took a position. And I think it’s very unfair of you to do that, Megyn.”
When Kelly quipped that Gingrich’s defensiveness may “speak volumes,” the former Speaker shot off an epic smackdown.
“You wanna go back through the tapes of your show recently?” Gingrich said. “You are fascinated with sex and you don’t care about public policy!”
