Thursday’s MSNBC “Morning Joe” panel eviscerated the Clintons in response to emails WikiLeaks released indicating that the family used the Clinton Foundation to heavily enrich themselves.
“The people around her are well aware of the problem,” co-host Willie Geist said after referring to one email in which longtime senior Clinton aide Huma Abedin wrote “She [Clinton] created this mess and she knows it.
Abedin was referring to an instance in which Clinton only agreed to meet with the Moroccan king after it had paid the foundation $12 million.
“Those closest to Hillary Clinton know– and Hillary Clinton must know on some level– that all these things will not look good going into a presidential election. At best, they’re unethical.”
All the MSMNC panelists agreed that something indeed smelled in the Clinton Foundation.
“Kind of a morally deficit kind of way,” co-host Mika Brzezinski put in. “Or a sleazy way.”
“It’s gross, it’s gross,” Nicolle Wallace agreed.
Brzezinski remarked that her father, former Jimmy Carter national security advisor Zbigniew Brzezinski, was perplexed by the recent revelations surrounding the Clintons.
“He does not get how this has constantly happened in sort of the Clinton empire,” she said.
“Even from the connections to Wall Street, the Foundation, these thin lines — it’s perplexing to him.”

“There’s no question that if you’ve ever been to [Clinton Global Initiative], you see business going on,” said Bloomberg’s Mark Halperin, “and that Bill Clinton, Doug Band and others enriched themselves by leveraging those relationships and offering access to people.”
Host Joe Scarborough was perplexed by the New York attorney general’s investigation of Donald Trump‘s charity but his refusal to investigate the Clinton Foundation.
“From what I’ve seen, the Trump Foundation probably needed to be shut down, but those are just nickel and dimes compared to the money here. They’re bragging about using this foundation to make the Clintons hundreds of millions of dollars,” he observed.
