One has to wonder just how many smoking guns does it take to get the media to stop yawning?
A March 2015 email released Tuesday by WikiLeaks appears to not only show President Barack Obama lied to the American people when he said he found out about Hillary Clinton’s private email server from news reports, but that top Clinton aides discussed the need to “clean this up.”
In the email exchange, Clinton spokesman Josh Schwerin told a number of Clinton aides that Obama, identified as “POTUS,” told the press that he found out about Clinton’s private email server in the news.
“[L]ooks like POTUS just said he found out HRC was using her personal email when he saw it in the news,” Schwerin wrote on March 7, 2015, to communications director Jennifer Palmieri, press secretary Nick Merrill and others.
He was referring to Obama telling CBS News’ Bill Plante the same day that he learned about the private email server “through news reports.”

The email was forwarded to Chery Mills, the long-time Clinton aide and attorney who served as Clinton’s chief of staff at the State Department.
Mills sent the communication to Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta, along with the message: “We need to clean this up. He has emails from her — they do not say state.gov.”
“He,” of course, being the president.

A previous WikiLeaks email from Clinton aide Philippe Reines flagged the president’s troubling response to CBS News in an exchange with other top Clinton aides.
“One of us should connect with the WH just so they know that the email will show his statement to not make sense,” Reines wrote. “It’s not unreasonable to assume that Josh [Earnest] is going to get asked how this was possible, and he should have the factset.”
Palmieri responded to that email by saying, “They know POTUS and HRC emailed.”
