Barack Obama’s military forces are apparently forces of political correctness more so than they are machines of security and war.

The latest example of the political games Obama is playing with our military comes with the debut of his new handbook to train our soldiers into accepting “gender dysphoria” and how to work with the transgender soldiers with which Obama wants to flood the ranks.

Even as the U.S. military is being systematically used up by the Obama administration, as our Navy dwindles in its number of ships because of a diminishing budget, the planes and equipment of our Air Force age to the point of disrepair effectively disarming us, and our Army is strained from being pointlessly thrown into constant conflicts all across the world, Barack Obama is more worried about making sure soldiers learn how to work with transgender people with this new handbook to train them how, the Washington Times reports.

Obama has imposed a new policy on the Pentagon to investigate soldiers who suddenly claim to be transgender and then determine whether the U.S. government should pay for their transformational medical treatment. To help the men in the ranks toe the line on the new policy, on September 30 Obama released a 72-page booklet entitled, “Transgender Service in the U.S. Military: An Implementation Handbook.”

The new training manual will inform soldiers that “gender dysphoria” is “the distress that some transgender individuals experience due to a mismatch between their gender and their sex assigned at birth,” and will tell soldiers to prepare to serve shoulder to shoulder with these mentally confused people.

“The commander, informed by the recommendations of the [military medical provider], the [service central coordination cells], and others, as appropriate, will respond to the request to transition gender while ensuring readiness by minimizing impacts to the mission (including deployment, operations, training, exercise schedules, and critical skills availability), as well as to the morale and welfare and good order and discipline of the command,” the new booklet reads.

The new handbook is modeled after a similar one put out by the Australian military and aims to teach soldiers how to respect the privacy of transgender soldiers as well as help medical personnel, chaplains, and officers deal with service members with these conditions.

Commanders, for instance, are warned to treat transgender soldiers with kid gloves. Officers are told to “ensure bullying, harassment, hazing or any other unacceptable behavior is not tolerated.”

The handbook also informs officers to make special concessions for transgender soldiers for use of bathrooms and showers to assure privacy and also demands that all personnel use the “proper pronoun” when talking to them. They must be called whatever they want to be called, the handbook warns.

One retired officer, though said the handbook puts PCism ahead of military readiness.

“This policy forces the military to deflect valuable resources better spent on improving the readiness of the force to focus on the mental and emotional well-being of anyone who wishes to serve,” Lt. Col. Robert Maginnis said. “This is a very dangerous path to pursue for the armed forces and America.”
