Cries for a boycott after CoverGirl chooses first cover boy: It’s just ‘political, preachy & vile’

Social media celebrated the announcement of Covergirl’s first ever cover boy, openly gay 17-year-old James Charles Dickinson, on Tuesday after pop star Katy Perry introduced him on her Instagram page.

Covergirl called Dickinson, who has 70,000 YouTube subscribers, an “inspiration” and a “boundary breaker.”

But not everyone was thrilled with the idea. Many even called for a boycott of the beauty product line.
