CNN reporter freaks out over ‘downright scary’ signs he sees at Trump rally

So now it looks like even “hard-nosed” members of the press are wilting in the face of “trigger warnings” as when covering a recent Donald Trump speech, CNN’s Jim Acosta became “scared” after a disturbing sign was left in the press section.

CNN’s Acosta went on the air on October 13 to sonorously proclaim that the media had encountered some “downright scary” things during Trump rallies. In particular, Acosta was worried by a sign that featured a Nazi swastika in front of the word “media,” perhaps intimating that the media is being used as a tool of propaganda like the Nazis used the media prior to and during WWII.

“It is, at times, getting downright scary,” Acosta whined in a report to Wolf Blitzer. “The people surrounding our press pen at the end of these rallies are really yelling some things at us that they would not want caught in a hot mic moment.”

“It’s pretty bad stuff” he added.

Acosta also Tweeted the sign:

Of course, it is highly likely that someone left that sign to troll either the media, or Trump… or both.

Still, I can personally attest to the fact that when Trump begins slamming the media at his rallies, all eyes turn to the media pit and many comments are heard. I covered a Trump rally in Wisconsin as a member of the media and experienced it myself. I was standing right in front of the media pit, nearest to the crowd, and when Trump started railing against the press — to the great approval of his supporters — several comments were thrown my way. Though some recognized that I was there covering the rally for Breitbart News, there were quite a lot of people unhappy with the media.

And for good reason, too.
