Virginia Sen. Tim Kaine used Tuesday’s vice presidential debate to push the notion that Donald Trump’s campaign is “insult driven” but Indiana Gov. Mike Pence was ready for him with a dose of the truth.
“He says ours is an insult-driven campaign,” Pence, the Republican vice presidential nominee, said of Kaine, and added “If Donald Trump had said all the things that you’ve said he said in the way you said he said them he still wouldn’t have a fraction of the insults that Hillary Clinton leveled when she said that half of our supporters were a “basket of deplorables. She said they were irredeemable, they were not American”
“Senator this ‘insult driven campaign,’ that’s small potatoes compared to Hillary Clinton calling half of Donald Trump supporters a basket of deplorables.”
