Yikes . . . Clinton campaign just doubled down on Trump’s ‘deplorables’ – that’s ‘bill-payers’ to non-libs

Just how tone death can a campaign be?

Despite the intense backlash over Hillary Clinton‘s ill-advised description of supporters of rival Donald Trump being a “basket of deplorables,” the Democratic nominee’s campaign manager doubled down on the insulting remark.

Clinton campaign manager Robby Mook appeared on NBC’s “Meet The Press” on Sunday and reaffirmed that “a lot” of the GOP nominee’s supporters “are deplorable” when asked to respond to a recent ad from the Trump campaign using the quip.

“I think a lot of the people that stand by Donald Trump are deplorable,” Mook told host Chuck Todd. “And the things they say are deplorable.”

Fox News’ Todd Starnes responded to Mook’s chutzpah by reminding him just who these Americans are.

“Well, sir – those deplorable people pay the bills in this country,” Starnes wrote on Facebook.
