Officers plead with volatile teen to cooperate before she attacks – and now the cops are the bad guys

Police in Hagerstown, Maryland have released body camera footage that shows a violent confrontation between officers and a juvenile that resulted in the the young offender being pepper sprayed.

The authorities released the footage after an attorney for the belligerent 15-year-old’s family posted a bystander’s video to Facebook and accused the police of aggression.

The 14 minute, 32 second video (seen below) shows the incident, that occurred on Sunday, from the beginning after the girl allegedly drove her bike into a passing car and tried to get away.

Police arrived and, after they obtained the driver’s information, approached the teen who, again, tried to get on her bike and escape.

“Don’t touch me. Don’t f***ing touch me,” the girl screamed at the officers who practically begged her to cooperate so they wouldn’t have to take forceful measures.

“You don’t want to do this,” one officer told her.

“You’re going to get hurt,” another officer said.

But she continued to fight and eventually had to be handcuffed and carried to a police cruiser, kicking off one of the officer’s body cameras in the struggle.

The recording resumed from the camera of another officer and showed the girl carried into the car where she refused to put her legs in the car.

Officers explained that they were only going to drive her home and talk to her parents, whose names, phone number and address she wouldn’t give because, she said, “they’re watching a f***ing football game.”

The police repeatedly explained that if she didn’t put her feet in the car she was going to be pepper sprayed and, after she refused to comply she ultimately was sprayed.

All of it can likely be traced back to several factors.

In the past two weeks a police officer was charged with manslaughter because she shot a man who refused to comply, rioting broke out in Charlotte for a man who approached police with a firearm and a state supreme court decided black people have the right to run from police.

We have a president who runs to the cameras whenever a thug is shot by police and a candidate for president who sided against officers in two cases before any facts of those cases were known.

And, ultimately, this teen belongs to a generation that teaches children authority figures are wrong and that they don’t have to be responsible for their actions.

To make it worse, she apparently comes from a family that agrees, and decided to hire an attorney for a likely lawsuit rather than teach their child about obeying authorities.

It’s no wonder some juveniles behave as if they are in charge.
