This woman stole the wrong guy’s Trump sign, and she paid for it instantly

A north-side Indianapolis resident got his revenge on a Donald Trump for President yard sign thief late last week.

Phillip, who asked that his last name not be published, said that sign thieves have targeted him twice within the last month, with the first attempt happening within a week of posting the sign on his front lawn.

“I looked out my front door and the sign was lying about four feet over, and it was crumpled up pretty good,” he told WRTV, The Indy Channel.

But both attempts failed, because the homeowner firmly anchored the sign in place using fishing line and string painted green to match the grass.

After that first attempt, he decided to go high-tech and added a video camera to the mix, in hopes of capturing an image of any additional would-be thieves in the act.

And it did. It depicted the thief — a woman — trying to run off with the sign only to land on her face when she ran out of string.

“She loses her footing and lost her grip and went flying,” Phillip told WRTV.

He told the station that people should be able to disagree with one another’s political views without resorting to criminal activity.

“Whether it’s a Bernie or Hillary or a Trump sign, you might disagree with whatever the politics are, but it’s not yours,” Phillip said. “Leave it alone.”
