USA darling Gabby Douglas missed big night with her team, now she’s back in the hospital

Simone Biles and the USA gold medal winning Olympic gymnastic team got to rub elbows with stars at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday.

Sadly, Gabby Douglas missed the event after being hospitalized with a mouth infection, ESPN reported.

The team was on hand to present the Best Female Video award.

“The fifth member of our team, Gabby Douglas, is having medical issues and unfortunately couldn’t make it tonight,” Biles told the crowd. “Feel better Gabby!”

“The five women nominated for best female video worked hard to be on top of their games,” Aly Raisman said on stage. “They’re role models for us as we hope to be to a younger generation of women.”
