Hot video! It takes about the same time to play the Star Spangled Banner as it does to BURN a football jersey

As expected, San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick set off a firestorm of criticism after the player refused to stand Friday during the national anthem before a pre-season game against the Green Bay Packers.

“I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color,” Kaepernick said afterwards.

A video of a 49ers fan burning a Kaepernick jersey while playing the national anthem has gone wild on social media, indicating just how severe the reaction has been to the ill-advised actions of an ungrateful player with a $126 million contract.

A contract the team likely regrets, given the quarterback’s performance on the field of late … a point one social media user referenced in posting the video on Twitter, along with the epic caption: “Burn the jersey for Kaepernick’s actions, but burn your judgment for buying the jersey of an average quarterback.”

Who knew it takes about the same time to play the Star Spangled Banner as it does to burn a football jersey???

The video was first posted on Facebook by Shane White, a lifelong 49ers fan, and it has been viewed 3.8 million times as of this writing.

And while burning the jersey is a feel-good response to Kaepernick’s idiocy, a U.S. Marine drove home a more important message in a very poignant manner, as seen HERE.

White received plenty of support on social media for burning the jersey… here’s a sampling of responses to the tweet above from Twitter:
