After new emails revealed the “pay-to-play” schemes inside Hillary Clinton’s State Department that gave favors to the Clinton Foundation, GOP nominee Donald Trump’s campaign isn’t missing a beat.
Emails from Clinton’s State Department released by Judicial Watch exposed the close relationship the Clinton Foundation had with high-ranking government officials, thanks to Clinton.
The Trump campaign responded quickly, telling the New York Post in a statement that the emails reveal exactly what some voters already know about Clinton — that she is a bought-and-paid-for political elite who is interested in “enriching” her career.
“This is yet more evidence that Hillary Clinton lacks the judgment, character, stability and temperament to be within 1,000 miles of public power. She views public office as nothing more than a means to personal enrichment.”
The email revelation also revealed how Clinton used the State Department to funnel deals to benefit her husband, former President Bill Clinton.
When Clinton’s top aide Cheryl Mills OK’d an oil deal in Bangladesh, Bill Clinton eventually profited with a speaking fee at an engagement in Scotland.
