These days, openly supporting a major party candidate in public can get you seriously hurt.
Consider what happened to black Air Force Vietnam War veteran Paul Jones Jr., who last month was shot by a man who overheard him discussing Trump in a bar. Or just last Wednesday, when 62-year-old Peter Yankowski was assaulted by a man wielding a frigging crowbar.
The 62-year-old Bloomfield, New Jersey man was walking in a Friendly’s parking lot wearing a T-shirt that read “Trump for President” and featured the Republican nominee standing in front of an American flag, when a driver stopped and confronted him.
Pretty soon things got heated, expletives flew, and the man was following Yankowski to the restaurant with a crowbar in hand, where he struck him several times before running off.
Yankowski was treated at the scene for injuries to his hands, forearms and thighs.
The attacker is still on the loose.
