Ivanka Trump is in play and it may be a game-changer.
One thing seems certain to have come out of the Republican National Convention in Cleveland. People loved Trump’s introduction of her dad.
And now many are advising Team Trump to put Ivanka front and center as the campaign roars into its next phase.
The Trump daughter is executive vice president of her father’s extensive empire, but according to the ratings she earned during her convention speech it might behoove the Donald Trump campaign to get her out at the hustings.
A pollster with Maslansky and Partners, Lee Carter, told Fox News, “She [was] off the charts. The bottom line is she is an amazing spokeswoman for him.”
She seemed just right at the convention, even getting high praise for the modest dress she wore that night.
The GOP nominee was asked recently if Ivanka will be seen more on the campaign trail but all he would say is, “She will be an incredible asset to the campaign and we are grateful for her support.”
The young Trump is a fantastic role model serving as one of her father’s key executives in a role that is anything but a do-nothing job. But that very job might make it harder for her to have time to do much campaigning.
Sarah Lenti, a Denver-based Republican consultant, told Fox that Ivanka is an asset the Trump campaign should seriously consider using more.
“I think [Trump] needs to play the woman’s card as much as possible. She was highly relatable and is extremely well-liked among working- and middle-class women,” Lenti said.
During a recent focus group of women, Lenti found a majority of them disliked both Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump — but related to Ivanka.
“They wanted to hear more from her on the issues. They were really impressed with her grace and what she has accomplished in life,” Lenti told FoxNews.com. “Older and middle-aged women don’t want to hear about abortion. They want to hear about how to balance work and life. [Ivanka] is a mom of three, she works a full-time job and she has her own business. She gets it.”
In all, it seems Ivanka would be the ideal surrogate for Trump to appeal to independents and younger voters. In fact, she has already put feminists on notice after insisting that her father is the reason she is successful.
Of course, Ivanka may have already helped shape her dad’s campaign. It was she who reportedly insisted that Donald fire troubled campaign chief Corey Lewandowski after the controversy over whether he manhandled a female reporter.
Finally, Ivanka’s husband, Jared Kushner, also jumped into the fray to inform the world that Donald Trump is no Jew-hating racist. He is the grandson of Holocaust survivors.
