Watch Megyn Kelly get testy with Mike Huckabee because she can’t turn him into a liberal thinker

Tempers flared Friday night on the set of “The Kelly File” on the issue of Donald Trump’s proposed temporary ban of Muslim refugees, causing even the normally equable former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee to appear miffed at times.

Fox News host Megyn Kelly began the segment by playing a clip of what Huckabee called “undoubtedly the best speech of the entire [Democratic] convention” — that of the father of fallen U.S. Army Capt. Humayun Khan, a Muslim.

Kelly argued that had Trump’s temporary ban been in effect when the Khans sought entry into the United States, the country would have been denied a family of loyal Americans and the soldiers that the younger Khan saved while losing his own life would have died.

Huckabee disagreed.

“Donald Trump doesn’t want to make sure that every Muslim doesn’t come to America,” he said. “But he does want to make sure that when people come — whoever they are, not just Muslims, whoever they are — that they immigrate because they want to assimilate and be Americans.”

Kelly countered that not only has Trump not walked back his original ban proposal but has expanded it “to include Muslims from any territory that suffers terrorism.”

Huckabee replied that the reasoning behind Trump’s temporary suspension “is to make sure people are vetted.”

He later said the problem isn’t with Muslims — but rather our disastrous de facto open border policy under the Obama administration.

“Europe is beginning to find out how disastrous it is, and that’s where Donald Trump is coming from,” he said.

“I think we have to separate the powerful testimony of this father, the extraordinary example of his son and also the responsibility of the United States president to keep this country safe,” the former governor said.
