Another leaked DNC email: Democrats plotted slimy religious attack against Bernie Sanders in South

Among the 19,252 Democratic National Committee emails and 8,034 attachments hacked by GUCCIFER 2.0 and released Friday by WikiLeaks is one that is especially damning, further depicting the DNC’s campaign against former presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders.

A May 4, 2016 email from DNC CFO Brad Marshall suggests an attack on the Vermont Independent in the Bible belt of the South, based on his lack of religious belief.

That email said:

Subject: No shit

It might may no difference, but for KY and WVA can we get someone to ask his belief. Does he believe in a God. He had skated on saying he has a Jewish heritage. I think I read he is an atheist. This could make several points difference with my peeps. My Southern Baptist peeps would draw a big difference between a Jew and an atheist.

WilliLeaks reported:

The email’s recipients were DNC Communications Director Luis Miranda ([email protected]), Deputy Communications Director Mark Paustenbach ([email protected]) and DNC CEO Amy Dacey ([email protected])..

It suggests having “someone,” presumably a friendly reporter or at a press conference or a voter at a town hall, to ask Sanders about his religious beliefs. Marshall claimed that Sanders is an atheist.

Dacey’s one-word response was “AMEN.”

This is the kind of tactics one would expect of a rival candidate — not a political party to attack one of its own candidates.
